About
Muehleisen Studio is an Architecture, Art & Design Studio based in the Hudson River Valley in upstate New York.

Headed by Architect Carl Muehleisen, the studio retains an international roster of architects, engineers, art advisors, real estate and property acquisitions, writers, and artisans, all selectively curated for each client and project.

With over two decades of built works,
Muehleisen Studio offers a holistic approach to custom residential architecture. Each home begins with a narrative drawn from the client's life, history, and site, and develops through rigorous study of materials, budget, sustainability, and constructability.

Our services extend beyond design. We assist clients with property acquisition and site selection, and our Art Team advises on building a collection, including acquisitions, cataloging, archiving, storage, shipping, and receiving. Our Artisan and Fabrication Team works with us through construction, carrying the design into every detail.

Beyond residential work, the studio designs commercial, cultural, and adaptive reuse projects, including galleries, art storage, hospitality, and community spaces, held to the same standard of craft and precision.

Our work is grounded in memory and narrative, attentive to light, shadow, and the in-between, and shaped by repetition and the dialogue between nature and construct. Architecture, art, and craft, brought together, create spaces that are timelessly modern and personal to the people who live in them.
